Photo of the Week

Roe deer Capreolus capreolus is a small native deer widespread throughout Britain in woodland, farmland and heathland habitats. They are extremely agile and can leap and bound high over fences, if disturbed. The bucks grow small antlers from November and shed the velvet from these by springtime, often rubbing them on tree branches. They browse woodland vegetation and tree shoots, often requiring control when in conflict with human interests.
