Photo of the Week

Rising above the turquoise seas and white sandy beaches of Sutherland are Assynt’s mountains – dramatic, otherworldly rock formations, which offer some of the best hillwalking days in the whole of Britain. The most famous of all these is the mighty Suilven, which forms a steep-sided ridge some 2kms in length. The highest point, Caisteal Liath 731m lies at the northwest end of this ridge. The John Muir Trust is in partnership with the Assynt Foundation to help preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the land for future generations.
