Michela’s images celebrate the beauty and diversity of water in motion, and its ever changing interaction with light, land and season. This ‘Liquid Light’ also inspires her to experiment with movement in and through the landscape. These individual interpretations have, for Michela, a richness missing from representational views and allow her to combine an early love of drawing and painting with her long-standing passion for photographing the landscape.
Michela prints, exhibits and sells limited edition fine art works that are always well received and frequently mistaken for paintings. Her portfolio from the River Dove has led to solo exhibitions at The Joe Cornish Galleries, Buxton Museum and Art Gallery, and The Peak Gallery, Bakewell. She has exhibited in Lichfield Cathedral as part of the Lichfield Festival Visual Arts Exhibition and at the Chatsworth Festival: Art Out Loud. During 2017 her work has been shown at the Longitude Gallery, Clitheroe; The Montefiore Hospital for Brighton Photo Fringe (Tim Andrews’ Over the Hill); and Buxton Art Trail (where she received a nomination for excellence in the Visual Arts as part of the Buxton Festival Fringe Awards).
Michela is a member of and exhibits with the professional artists’ group Peak District Artisans. She also interviews other photographers for and contributes the occasional article on creative image making to On Landscape magazine.
