The Winter chanterelle Cantharellus tubaeformis or Yellowlegs, typically grows in damp mossy woodland, especially beneath conifers such as spruce and pine, often appearing in scattered troops or dense clusters. These fungi form mycorrhizal relationships with trees, exchanging nutrients with roots and helping woodland ecosystems remain healthy. The Long-jawed spider, despite its delicate appearance, can adjust the tension of its web to entrap different kinds of prey effectively. This species feeds mainly on fliesA, moths, small beetles and tiny caterpillars.
