Blà Bheinn, or Blaven, 929m is the outlying and most southerly peak of the Black Cuillin Mountains on the Isle of Skye. Its immediate neighbour Clach Glas, 782m is held in great respect by winter mountaineers who scramble along its complex pinnacled crest. The John Muir Trust purchased, maintains and manages three great wild mountain estates on Skye, Torrin in 1991, Strathaird in 1994 and Sconser in 1997.
Barbara took up hill walking in her late twenties and capturing scenery on film seemed a natural progression so that pretty soon she was getting work published. Self taught, and working alone, Barbara seeks fleeting light and wild weather in her work.
