The Red fox Vulpes vulpes is one of Britain’s last remaining apex predators. It’s presence in our towns and cities have made the fox a part of our daily life. Although predominantly crepuscular and elusive, they have adapted to become confident in urban areas, and may be seen out during the day. Despite an urban increase, rural fox populations have declined by 48% in recent years probably due to rural habitat loss, over development, reduction in food sources particularly due to farming practices, and also shooting pressures.
Helen has an innate connection to the natural world expressed through wildlife photography, especially foxes. She believes having respect for all creatures and habitats is essential when taking photographs. Helen is widely published in the UK.
