The old bridge at Sligachan on the Isle of Skye. Beyond lies Sgurr Mhaili 775m or Glamaig, one of the key peaks of the Red Cuillin or na Beanntan Dearga. These peaks are so named due to the geologic constituents of granitic materials like feldspars, mica and schists, some of which have a russet and pink hue. The Red Cuillin has weathered into more rounded peaks than its immediate neighbour, the infamous Black Cuillin or An Cuiltheann with its jagged gabbro and basalt summits.
