Sunrise on the jagged northeast ridge of Y Garn 947m in the Glyderau group of Eryri, the mountains of Snowdonia. Beyond lie the glacial lakes of Llyn Ogwen and Llyn Idwal and the precipitous peak of Tryfan 918m. This once highly glaciated region shelters many iconic and relic species of alpine flora hidden amongst its steepest terrain, including rare saxifrages and ferns.
Iain spends much of his time in the mountains and wild places of the UK. His photography is an attempt to convey some of the atmosphere and feeling of being in these special places.
