Bla Bheinn or Blaven 928m, the Blue Mountain, is an outlier of the Black Cuillin in the Torrin Estate on Skye. The peak along with its neighbour Clach Glas 786m forms part of a 12,000 hectare area including Sconser, Strathaird, and Torrin and is owned and managed by the John Muir Trust. This dramatic landscape includes many protected sites for geology, peat lands, woodlands and abundant biodiversity of species.
Barbara took up hill walking in her late twenties and capturing scenery on film seemed a natural progression so that pretty soon she was getting work published. Self taught, and working alone, Barbara seeks fleeting light and wild weather in her work.
