Photo of the Week

East Mill Tor 513m, is one of a series of rocky outcrops on a broad spur of moorland shaped by the East Okement River and Black-a-ven Brook on Dartmoor. In his book High Dartmoor, Eric Hemery describes how there are no mills on or near Dartmoor therefore the name Mill is probably a local dialect abbreviation of Middle Hill, or ‘Mil”, the tor standing between the neighbouring East and West Tors.
