Summer showers sweep across the fells of North West Yorkshire. Pen y Ghent 694m is the lowest of three prominent nearby peaks that include Ingelborough 723m and Whernside 736m. Across this region the highest ground is composed of resistant millstone grit capping the extensive limestone beneath. Surface rainfall sinks into the limestone forming caverns, renowned by speleologists who explore the complex hydrology.
Jeanie is a photograper with a passion for being outdoors capturing what
Mother Nature offers us. Her favourite genre is landscape photography and she is at her happiest in her wellies and waterproofs
on the coast or amongst the hills.
Jeanie does not do much by way of post-processing, preferring instead to wait patiently and capture the view in front of her,
in camera, with the assistance of neutal density filters. The fun for her is capturing the moment... and you may see her jumping
up and down like an excited child at Christmas when it all comes together and she gets the shot.
In 2018 Jeanie was delighted to be chosen as overall winner in the Landscape category of Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year,
as well as also winning the Spring section of the Four Seasons category in the same competition.
