Photo of the Week

Fox cubs Vulpes vulpes are born in March, suckled by the vixen and emerge from the den or ‘earth’ after four weeks. At around eight weeks old their fur gradually changes colour from greyish to tawny red but still appears woolly. Cubs will now forage for themselves on earthworms and insects although fed on larger prey by the parents. Family groups usually disperse in autumn.
