At dawn, air cooled by land surface temperatures, expands and condenses as cloud, then sinks off the mountains into valleys at lower elevations. These ‘sea of cloud’ formations are spectacular to experience for hillwalkers throughout Britain’s mountain and upland landscapes, seen here are distant views of Snowdon or Yr Wyddfa 1,085m.
