The sea stack of Am Buachaille, meaning the Herdsman, rises 65m above the sea on the headland of Rub’h a Buachaille near Sheigra, Sutherland. Only one and a half kilometres away is Sandwood Bay, a property of the John Muir Trust since 1993. Bordered by these rugged cliffs and spectacular beaches, dune systems and machair, it has some of the finest coastal scenery in Europe.
