Belstone Tor 759m on the northern fringe of Dartmoor in Cornwall. Tors are hard granite remnants of the greater mass of granite underlying Dartmoor. Scattered fragments on the surface around these tors are called clitter, (probably derived from clegyr, the Celtic word for rock) and in some instances are as remarkable as the tors themselves.
