The Inshriach Forest is a pristine remnant of ancient Caledonian Pinewood. These ancient woodlands are areas which have had woodland cover for centuries and have been relatively undisturbed by human activity. Over hundreds of years, they have evolved into complex communities of trees, plants, fungi, microorganisms and insects. This woodland in the heart of Glenfeshie is dotted with boggy pools and small lochans, with red squirrels, pine marten, crested tit and crossbill enriching the forest community of species.
